Since we began looking at houses, the garage has always been a point of contention between Msturg and me. His hobbies of building stuff and working on cars requires that they have access to at least a two-car garage; however, when looking for an affordable home in the city, a two-car garage can seem like the holy grail. We finally settled on our humble love nest and it's inefficient and border-line dipalidated garage with the intent on it being the first fixer up project. Fast forward two years, we renovated a bath and added a second, gutted and rebuilt the kitchen, did cosmetic work in the other rooms, but the garage remained untouched. Msturg has been renting garage space elsewhere for his projects, and we couldn't muster the funds to completely rebuild the garage.
And here it is after mother nature had her way with it:

Enter a winter full of wind, snow and ice followed by a rainy and windy spring which caused our garage to cave in. Now with some help from our homeowners insurance, we are finally able to make it a usuable space for Msturg and his toys.
